Hansjörg Fetzer: My home screen shows one of my favorite photos of my two sons and I when they were much younger. Today they are both grown up, on their own paths. By the way, it’s no coincidence that we’re on a motorcycle – it’s one of my biggest hobbies.
Hansjörg Fetzer: A smartphone for work and private life
Since I use my smartphone for both work and private life, there is a colorful mix of apps on it: from communication and (business) trips to music.
Spotify (for Android) is probably what I use the most. Whether during sports, on a train ride or simply to relax – music from the 70s and 80s accompanies me throughout the day. Artists like Herbert Grönemeyer, the Scorpions, Bon Jovi and ACDC are my permanent guests.
For work, I travel about every two weeks and visit cooperation partners or take part in industry events, so nothing works without them German train app (for Android).
I also enjoy traveling in my private life – but especially on two wheels, because I really enjoy riding my motorcycle through the Black Forest. The Weather app (for Android) and Google Maps (for Android) help me find beautiful routes and prevent me from ending up in the rain on my tours.
Apps for communication
I rely primarily on these three apps for my daily communication: Microsoft Teams (for Android) I use primarily for professional meetings and collaboration, while email is for formal correspondence and Whatsapp (for Android) is ideal for quick exchange.
A practical and somewhat reassuring tool on my smartphone is the “Find My?” app. My two sons (17 and 19 years old) are fledging and are on the go a lot. They share their location via the app.
I keep up with sport Freeletics (for Android) fit, especially through regular running training in the evening. Exercise is the perfect balance for me, especially on stressful days. I find the structured training plans particularly good because I can easily integrate them into my often busy everyday life.
I’ve also been using my colleagues’ app from Sparks for some time now. This means I can continue my education on topics such as AI or leadership in short learning units – currently the best way to continue my education despite the high schedule.
I spend so much time on the computer, in calls or on my cell phone. That’s why there is one thing that I consciously keep analogue: I prefer to read newspapers (especially the Handelsblatt), magazines and books in printed form. This offers me a break from the screen.
