Heat pumps do not cause any direct emissions. That’s why they are particularly popular with environmentally conscious people. In the long term, they can also be more efficient and cheaper than classic oil and gas heating systems. However, purchasing and installing a heat pump can be relatively expensive. As part of the desired heating transition, the federal government is supporting heating changes with up to 70 percent.

According to a recent analysis by the Stiftung Warentest However, there are differences in many heat pumps in terms of energy efficiency, power consumption and handling. The consumer organization also checked the volume of a total of eleven devices, which were randomly selected, at full power. All devices performed well or satisfactory in this category.

To test energy efficiency, the devices were placed in cold chambers and exposed to temperatures between plus twelve and minus 15 degrees. The pumps each had to convert a flow temperature of 55 degrees. Stiftung Warentest has also assessed the environmental impact of the respective refrigerants. 11th place: Mitsubishi Electric PUZ-WM85YAA & ERPX-YM9D

Eleventh place in the ranking goes to the Mitsubishi Electric PUZ-WM85YAA & ERPX-YM9D. She received this Overall rating 2.9. Stiftung Warentest gave the quality rating “satisfactory” to energy efficiency, environmental properties in heating mode and the basic protection of personal user data. The handling received a partial grade of 2.2 and the quality rating “good”.
